Critter Patch has something for everyone.

Hedgehogs, rabbits, raccoons, foxes and more. Critter Patch, the latest organic quilter's cotton collection by Alyssa Thomas for Clothworks offers up a nice variety of scale, including three prints that can easily be used as blenders. The small oak leaf prints are on a mottled color background that almost shimmers. There's not a stark solid to be found here. The organic cotton coming from Clothworks is quickly becoming among our very favorite. The quality of the cotton and the printing, the supreme softness, and an attractive price point all combine to make Critter Patch a great value.

And, in cooperation with Clothworks, we've put together a quilt kit that uses most of the fabrics in this adorable line.

Little Things by Arrin Turnmire for Moda Fabrics

Little Things Organic Quilter's Cotton by Moda

The first organic cotton line from Moda Fabrics is super soft, light-weight sheeting and is a real pleasure to sew. The soft, modern color palette lends itself to so many uses. We chose Amy Smart's Hour Glass quilt pattern  to highlight how well all the prints and solids play together. Amy's directions make the pattern a snap to piece together. We did ours in just a few fun hours and the results are fantastic.

As you can see, our quilt hasn't been finished yet. It'll go off to the long arm quilter in the next week or two. We're excited to see the finished product and will be sure and update this post with new photos. In the meantime, if you'd like to make a Little Things quilt of your own, we've put together an economical and time-saving quilt kit

Valley View by Saffron Craig

Valley View has arrived! The color combinations possible with this collection are so bright and cheery. Here are some solid pairing suggestions that match nearly perfectly with the colors in these prints (nearly is the key word here - as these fabrics were printed on different basecloths by different manufacturers you'll never get a perfect match, but these are darn close!)

Clothworks Organic Elements solids pair really nicely with Saffron Craig's fabric as both have similar hand and feel - super soft and smooth 100% GOTS certified organic cotton. The combination is Purple, Pink, and Bright Yellow with Flower on the Lattice. These solids would work well with all of the prints in this line.

Organic Elements Solid Pink and Light Lime with the Valley Views print.

If you don't mind combining the smooth sheeting of Valley Views with a slightly rougher muslin, Robert Kaufman's Organic Kona Solids make a great color match. Berry and Kelly Green with Valley Views.

Enjoy!

Tangerine Twist

We've collaborated with local artist/quilter, Candace Hassen, on this scrappy quilt kit. The design is funky (which is why we chose it!), the colors are alternately bright and monotone, and the size just perfect for cuddling.

Here's a sneak preview of Tangerine Twist. Final quilt photos and the kit including pattern/directions will be available at www.honeybegood.com next week.

Meet Candace Hassen

Hi. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Art. I got my start in textiles as a weaver; but was bitten by the quilting bug when the Olympics came to Atlanta and Georgia quilters gave almost 400 quilts to the participating countries. Now that I have been a quilter for 15 years, I am starting to see how my weaving background is influencing my quilt designs. Both rely on color interplay, and repeated geometric patterns. I enjoy working with both traditional and contemporary designs and fabrics. A few of my quits have been published in McCalls Quilting Magazine. I love to share my quilting designs by producing patterns from them, teaching, doing guild programs, and making custom quilts.
